We have an exciting opportunity for Village Technology Field Technician based in Christchurch. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting Summerset’s growth across New Zealand and Australia by installing and maintaining the technology that powers our villages and offices. Reporting to the Village Technology Manager, you will:
- Lead the setup and installation of ICT and AV systems, including desktops, mobile devices, Nurse Call, CCTV systems, and more.
- Provide technical support, from diagnosing issues to training staff on new systems.
- Travel to villages for new builds, refurbishments, and technology upgrades.
- Ensure all installations meet Summerset’s high standards for quality and innovation.
- Maintain hardware, software, and asset records while driving process improvements.
You will have hands-on technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 2+ years’ experience in IT installations, support, or service desk environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10, Office 365, Active Directory, and mobile device management (iOS, MDM).
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for installations.
- A full NZ driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly.
- A positive, energetic approach to solving technical challenges.
What you'll need:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Proven work experience including resource consents, NZBC and 3604 residential standards is preferred
- Ideally you will be proficient in navigating, learning and using Revit and other complimentary software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape etc.
- An affinity to understand Summerset Values and the Summerset Way to improve the lives of our residents
- Proven ability to produce effective architectural documentation
