Junior Quantity Surveyor
I joined Summerset in May 2022 as a Construction Management Intern, and by November, I stepped into a new challenge as Summerset’s first Quantity Surveyor Cadet. Fast-forward three years, and I’m proud to now be a Junior Quantity Surveyor.

I call my time at Summerset a journey because that’s exactly what it’s been — full of milestones, challenges, and incredible growth. In the beginning, even simple QA checks and learning new systems felt overwhelming, but every task was a stepping stone. One of my first assignments was calculating remedial costs after an electrician drilled through LVL beams — daunting at the time, but it kick-started my learning.

Each project has taught me something new and given me the chance to learn from experienced team members in live environments. That hands-on exposure has been invaluable in understanding how Summerset operates.

What stands out most is the people. I’ve had mentors who genuinely wanted me to succeed, and their guidance has made all the difference. This journey hasn’t been mine alone — it’s been shaped by the support and encouragement of every team I’ve worked with. There’s always been someone rooting for me, and that’s what makes Summerset special.
