About the role 

Summerset is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Advisor/Payroll Officer to join our Shared Services team, based at our Melbourne Office. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for our Australian and New Zealand operations.  

Applications from Senior Payroll Officers will also be considered for this position.  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage fortnightly payroll for Summerset entities in Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Ensure compliance with employment agreements, Modern Awards, and relevant legislation.  
  • Process payroll tasks including new hires, terminations, leave management, and changes to deductions. 
  • Support and maintain the time and attendance system, including data import and manager training. 
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and remuneration activities. 
  • Provide expert guidance on payroll queries and support junior colleagues. 
  • Maintain data integrity and confidentiality across all payroll systems. 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing. 
  • Familiarity with TechnologyOne (HRIS) and Optima (rostering system). 
  • Strong understanding of National Employment Standards and Fair Work Modern Awards. 
  • Health sector payroll experience is advantageous.  
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
