Company Description:
You can help bring our villages to life!
At Summerset, from the moment we start developing a village to when our residents call it home, it’s the passion and dedication of our people that brings our villages to life. We are one team united by being part of something bigger – to bring the best of life to our residents.
As Summerset continues to grow at speed across Aotearoa and Australia, we’re looking for a collaborative and action‑oriented People & Culture Coordinator who enjoys working in a fast‑moving environment and getting things done.
Reporting to the People Services Manager, you’ll be a key part of our P&C team. You’ll help with recruitment, onboarding and employee support. You’ll work in the P&C Help Desk regularly, solve problems quickly, and keep our records accurate. You’ll also have opportunity to improve tools and streamline processes.
You’ll be someone the broader P&C function can rely on – organised, helpful and ready to jump in where needed.
This role is fixed term for 8 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage P&C help desk queries, coordinating timely and accurate responses
- Handle more complex issues by escalating them when needed and following up until they’re resolved.
- Prepare employment agreements and on-boarding documents with strong attention to detail.
- Keep employee records up to date, working closely with Payroll to make sure everything matches.
- Help with off-boarding and key remuneration work, like LTI grants, Employee Share Plan tasks and annual reviews.
- Look for ways to improve our processes, including automation, FAQs and self‑service tools.
- Support P&C projects, working closely with P&C Advisors and Business Partners and help the wider team where needed.
- Promote our zero‑harm safety culture in everything you do.
About You
You are a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused P&C professional who thrives in a busy environment. You’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities and enjoy delivering exceptional service to employees and managers.
You will also bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional communication skills and a professional, proactive approach.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to anticipate needs and exceed customer expectations.
- Confidence using technology, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
- Interest or experience across broader P&C generalist functions.

We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and supported to thrive.
You’ll also enjoy great benefits, including:
- Flexible working hours, including work‑from‑home options
- Professional development and career progression opportunities
- Birthday leave
