Company Description:

Step into a pivotal leadership role where your experience will shape the future of how people, systems and processes work together.

You can help bring our villages to life!

At Summerset, from the moment we start developing a village to when our residents call it home, it’s the passion and dedication of our people that brings our villages to life. We are one team united by being part of something bigger – to bring the best of life to our residents.

The way we work is guided by our values – One Team, Strong Enough to Care, and Strive to Be the Best. We know it takes a collective effort to help a village thrive, so Summerset is a place where everyone’s uniqueness and diversity can shine.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a confident and pragmatic People Systems Manager to lead our People Services team and help take our P&C systems, processes and employee experience to the next level. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving how work gets done, and turning complex systems into simple, useful tools for busy teams.

We have some exciting work ahead. Our onboarding stream starts this year with dedicated investment, and this role will be a key stakeholder working closely with the PMO and Group Digital Services teams. Think legacy systems getting a much-needed upgrade, better automation, smarter reporting through Power BI, and practical opportunities to use AI to improve the way our teams work. Looking ahead, there is also scope to support roster-to-pay improvements, including integrations across our recruitment, payroll and workforce systems.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading, developing and supporting a team of P&C coordinators, systems administrators and specialists
  • Playing a key role in our onboarding transformation work, from process design through to implementation and adoption
  • Partnering with the PMO, Group Digital Services and P&C teams to improve legacy systems, workflows and integrations
  • Using data, reporting and insights to help teams make better decisions and work more efficiently
  • Identifying the non-negotiables, shaping the nice-to-haves, and making each dollar of investment work hard

Qualifications:

This role will suit someone who can see what the future could look like, while staying grounded in what is achievable now. We are not starting from a perfect, best-in-class environment, and we do not have a large budget, but we are investing in systems that will make a real difference for our people and the way we work.

  • Grit, resilience and persistence, you’ll be driving change through complexity, competing priorities and legacy ways of working
  • Strong HR operations, systems or shared services leadership experience, ideally with exposure to HRIS, payroll, recruitment or rostering platforms
  • A practical continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to separate the non-negotiables from the nice-to-haves
  • Confidence working with data, reporting and digital tools, including an interest in automation, AI and Power BI
  • Commercial judgement and the ability to make every dollar work hard while keeping the employee and manager experience front of mind
  • A collaborative, sleeves-rolled-up style with the credibility to bring teams with you and keep momentum moving forward
