Summerset Cambridge is preparing to open its brand-new care centre – a premium facility nestled in a picturesque, established village poised to become the heart of aged care in the region. Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse at our Cambridge V illage, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.
Typical duties include:
- Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
- Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
- Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
- Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
- Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
- Building trusted relationships with residents and their families
You will be working a 4-days-on, 2-days-off rotating shift pattern, with weekly hours ranging from a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 60. Shifts will be scheduled across mornings, afternoons, and nights.
3 weeks paid training commences onsite on the 27th January 2026 ahead of the care centre’s official opening.

Qualifications:
As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
You’ll bring with you:
- A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
- 2+ years of relevant New Zealand experience
- A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
- Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
- Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
