About the role 

As our Team Leader – Accounts Payable, you’ll lead a high-performing AP team and ensure the timely, accurate management of our supplier accounts. You’ll play a key role in strengthening our AP processes, building capability across the team, and driving continuous improvement. 

This role requires strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills, supported by a Finance team that works collaboratively.  

Your day-to-day will include:  

  • Oversee invoice processing and payment runs to ensure deadlines, controls, and approval processes are met 
  • Oversee the management of statement reconciliations for all supplier accounts 
  • Ensuring strong AP controls, policies, and processes are in place and continuously improved 
  • Allocating unassigned payments promptly and accurately 
  • Training and developing your direct reports, as well as supporting cross-training within the team 
  • Leading Office Manager training on AP processes 
  • Working closely with the Financial Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely month-end processes 
  • Preparing payment journals when required 
  • Sharing AP knowledge across the wider Finance team to build capability 
  • Supporting the team with day-to-day AP tasks and ad hoc finance requirements 

About You 

You’ll bring strong experience in Accounts Payable and a passion for developing people and improving processes. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and be motivated by accuracy, efficiency, and great service. 

You’ll Also Bring: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ Accounts Payable experience 
  • Proven experience managing or coaching direct reports 
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship management skills 
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • The ability to work to deadlines with urgency and accuracy 
  • Analytical and problem-solving strengths 
  • A strong focus on controls, continuous improvement, and sharing knowledge 
  • A collaborative mindset and openness to new ideas
