Job Description:

We are looking for an exceptional Village Assistant to join our  Blenheim   Village.

In this sole-charge, evening and overnight role, you will ensure the safety and security of the village and be ready to respond to any medical or emergency incidents that may arise.

You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all Village related matters whilst on duty and more importantly providing a visible, reassuring presence overnight and ensuring our residents feel safe and supported while the village sleeps.

Your day-to-day will include: 

  • Providing a calm, professional first response to medical emergencies
  • Cleaning duties (maintaining cleanliness of facilities)
  • Administrative duties (handling paperwork, scheduling, or data entry)
  • Liaising with emergency services when needed
  • Monitoring village security and respond to any unusual activity
  • Maintaining clear communication with the Village Manager

It's a Part Time role with Weekend afternoon shifts from 4pm - 10pm, Fixed term until January 2027. Also will be required to cover sick and annual leave.

Qualifications:

About You:  

You’ll be someone who brings a calm, confident presence to the role—comfortable working alone overnight, capable of thinking on your feet, and able to make sound decisions under pressure without hesitation.

You’ll also bring: 

  • Confident working independently and making quick, effective decisions when needed
  • A strong communicator who remains calm and composed in high-pressure or emergency situations
  • Naturally responsible, dependable, and highly observant, with great attention to detail
  • Able to build rapport and trust with residents
  • Has a current First aid certificate (preferrable) and full drivers license
