Job Description:
We have an opportunity for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our St Johns village team as our new Wellness Coordinator. In this rewarding role, you’ll use your clinical expertise to support residents through personalised care and health education—empowering them to take charge of their wellbeing. Reporting to the Resident Experience Manager and receiving clinical support from the Care Centre Manager, you’ll be instrumental in fostering a vibrant, healthy, and connected community. This is a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality care while making a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents.
Typical duties include:
- Conduct wellness assessments and chronic disease screenings for residents.
- Provide nursing care within scope, including wound care, post-op monitoring, continence and catheter support, medication administration, and health education.
- Respond to general health inquiries and refer residents to appropriate providers as needed.
- Support residents in planning for changes in health and care needs.
- Coordinate and run vaccination clinics with local pharmacies and GPs.
- Maintain accurate, professional documentation in line with policy and legislation.
- Manage clinical supplies and equipment effectively.
- Foster a warm, supportive atmosphere, engaging with residents and their families to build a strong sense of community.
This is a permanent full-time role, working between Monday to Friday (and flexibility needed around start and finish times around events).
Qualifications:
Our successful applicant will have:
- A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of ageing well practices for older people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Honesty and integrity
- Current First Aid certificate
